Trump promises a $5,000 dividend if Republicans hold both chambers
Trump promised a dividend of $5,000 to "every citizen of the United States of America" if Republicans hold both chambers in November. He said it Wednesday in Dallas, at the Republican National Committee's first midterm convention. The one condition he attached is that the money be spent inside the United States. The Hill and the Daily Signal both reported the promise as every adult, so who would get a check is not settled. Trump gave no further detail, and The Hill flagged unresolved legal questions.

Missouri's supreme court ruled on September 3 that the new congressional map never took effect, because a referendum petition put it on the November ballot. Energy Department puts $73 million into places to test American mining machinery

It goes to the University of Arizona, the University of Missouri, Southern Methodist University and a Virginia firm, Innovative Wireless Technologies. All four were selected for award negotiations, so the money is not obligated yet.

Fetterman taped it in front of the Mon Valley steel works and said he would work with Trump to defend the steel way of life. He said he rejects "the extremes in socialism and that anti-American way of life," in The Hill's transcription. McCormick asked the hall how great John Fetterman is, a moment CBS News reported. He is still a Democrat, and he skipped his own party's convention in 2024.
