America Is Winning is an email newsletter. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

Who runs this

America Is Winning is published from Washington, D.C. Write to us at contact@americaiswinning.com about anything on this page. Our postal address is 1901 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20006.

What we collect

To subscribe, one thing: the email address you type into the subscribe box. Nothing else is required, and nothing else is asked for until after you have confirmed that address.

After you confirm, we offer you an optional page where you may add your first name, your last name, and a mobile number. All three are optional, you can skip the page entirely, and skipping it changes nothing about your subscription. We use a name, if you give us one, to address you properly. Nothing more.

About that text message box

On that same optional page there is an unticked box about text messages. Ticking it does not sign you up for texts and is not treated as permission to text you. We are not sending text messages at all right now. What it records is that you would be interested if we did.

If that ever changes, everyone who ticked that box will be asked again, properly and separately, before a single message is sent. You would have to agree at that point. Ticking the box today is not that agreement, and we will not treat it as one.

If you gave us a mobile number and would rather we did not keep it, write to us and we will delete it.

Our email delivery provider records standard sending telemetry against your address: whether a message was delivered, whether it bounced, and whether you marked it as spam. We use that to keep the list clean and to stop mailing people who do not want mail.

We also record how and when you agreed to hear from us: the date and time, the internet protocol (IP) address the agreement came from, your browser's user agent string, and the exact wording you were shown at the time. That exists so that we can always demonstrate what you actually agreed to rather than asking you to take our word for it.

What we do not collect

• We set no cookies on this website. None at all.
• This website runs no analytics, no tracking pixels, and no third-party scripts. The page contains no JavaScript whatsoever.
• We do not ask for, store, or process payment details, because nothing here is paid.
• We do not buy, rent, import, or otherwise acquire email addresses. The only way onto this list is to type your address into the box and then confirm it from a message we send you. If you never confirmed, you are not on the list.

Fonts are loaded from Google

This page loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. That means your browser makes a request to a Google server, which necessarily discloses your internet protocol (IP) address to Google. We do not receive or store anything from that request. If you would rather it did not happen, a content blocker will stop it, and the page still works with the fallback fonts.

Who else touches your address

We use Amazon Web Services to send the newsletter, so your address is processed on Amazon infrastructure in the United States for the purpose of delivering mail to you. We do not sell your address. We do not share it with advertisers, partners, data brokers, or campaigns. We disclose it only if a law compels us to.

How long we keep it

Your address, and any name or number you chose to add, until you unsubscribe, or until your address hard-bounces and is suppressed, whichever happens first. When you unsubscribe we keep a record that the address unsubscribed, because that is the only reliable way to make sure we never mail you again by accident.

Leaving

Every email carries a working unsubscribe link. It opens a page with one Unsubscribe button, no login and no survey asking why, and email apps that offer their own unsubscribe control remove you in one click. You may also write to contact@americaiswinning.com and ask to be removed, and we will do it by hand.

Asking us about your data

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to contact@americaiswinning.com and we will answer. We will not make you cite a statute before we help you.

Children

This newsletter is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect addresses from anyone under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will say so in the newsletter rather than quietly changing the date on this page.
